11 The Committee on Commerce (Saunders) recommended the following
12 amendment:

14 Senate Amendment (with title amendment)
15 Delete everything after the enacting clause

17 and insert:
18 Section 1. Subsection (5) of section 445.007, Florida
19 Statutes, is amended, present subsections (6) through (8) of
20 that section are redesignated as subsections (7) through (9),
21 respectively, and a new subsection (6) is added to that
22 section, to read:
23 445.007 Regional workforce boards.--
24 (5) Workforce Florida, Inc., shall implement a
25 training program for the regional workforce boards to
26 familiarize board members with the state's workforce
27 development goals and strategies.
28 (6) The regional workforce board shall designate all
29 local service providers and may shall not transfer this
30 authority to a third party. In order to exercise independent
31 oversight, The regional workforce board may shall not be

1 designated as a one-stop operator and direct provider of
2 intake, assessment, eligibility determinations, or other
3 direct provider services except training services. Such
4 designation is subject to the approval, by agreement, of the
5 Governor and the designated chief elected official of the
6 region as specified in 29 U.S.C. s. 2832(f)(2).
7 Section 2. This act shall take effect July 1, 2007.

17 amending s. 445.007, F.S.; authorizing

20 certain services, subject to approval by the
21 Governor and the regional designated chief
22 elected official; providing an effective date.
