11  The Committee on Governmental Operations (Wilson) recommended
12  the following amendment:
13  
14         Senate Amendment (with title amendment) 
15         Delete everything after the enacting clause
16  
17  and insert:  
18         Section 1.  Beginning in May 2007, the Legislature
19  designates the second Monday in May as "Child Welfare
20  Professionals Recognition Day" to recognize the efforts of all
21  professionals who work with abused children and dysfunctional
22  families. The Department of Children and Family Services,
23  local governments, and other agencies are encouraged to
24  sponsor events to promote awareness of the child welfare
25  system and the personnel who work in the system.
26         Section 2.  This act shall take effect upon becoming a
27  law.
