  1                      A bill to be entitled

  2         An act relating to safety at school bus stops;

  3         requiring the Department of Education to

  4         annually assess safety at school bus stops;

  5         requiring each school district to submit an

  6         annual report to the department which includes

  7         a plan to improve safety at school bus stops;

  8         requiring the department to adopt rules;

  9         providing an effective date.

11  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

12  

13         Section 1.  The Department of Education shall annually

14  assess safety at school bus stops in this state. Each school

15  district shall submit an annual report to the department which

16  includes a plan to improve safety at school bus stops in the

17  district. The department shall adopt rules pursuant to ss.

18  120.536(1) and 120.54, Florida Statutes, prescribing the style

19  and requirements of such report.

20         Section 2.  This act shall take effect July 1, 2007.
