11  The Committee on Military Affairs and Domestic Security
12  (Haridopolos) recommended the following amendment:
13  
14         Senate Amendment (with title amendment) 
15         On page 1, line 29, through
16            page 2, line 16, delete those lines
17  
18  and insert:  this state; and
19         (c)  Submits to the state university or the community
20  college the DD-214 form issued at the time of separation from
21  service as documentation that the student has received a
22  Purple Heart or another combat decoration superior in
23  precedence.

25  Such a waiver for a Purple Heart recipient or recipient of
26  another combat decoration superior in precedence shall be
27  applicable for 110 percent of the number of required credit
28  hours of the degree or certificate program for which the
29  student is enrolled. If such a student has an outstanding
30  undergraduate student loan that was awarded before receipt of
31  the combat decoration, the Department of Education shall pay

 1  the balance due on the student loan as of the date that the
 2  tuition waiver was first granted once the repayment of the
 3  loan is considered to be in good standing.
 4         Section 1.  The sum of _____ is appropriated from the

10         On page 1, lines 3 through 12, delete those lines

12  and insert:

16         a decorated combat veteran; requiring certain
17         conditions be met; providing an appropriation;
