  1                      A bill to be entitled

  2         An act relating to motor vehicle registration;

  3         amending s. 320.02, F.S.; authorizing a

  4         voluntary checkoff on motor vehicle

  5         registration and renewal application forms to

  6         distribute $1 to the Children's Hearing Help

  7         Fund; providing an effective date.

  9  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

10  

11         Section 1.  Paragraph (e) is added to subsection (16)

12  of section 320.02, Florida Statutes, to read:

13         320.02  Registration required; application for

14  registration; forms.--

15         (16)

16         (e)  The application form for motor vehicle

17  registration and renewal registration must include language

18  permitting a voluntary contribution of $1 per applicant, which

19  contribution must be distributed to the Children's Hearing

20  Help Fund to be used for purposes provided for the fund.

22  For the purpose of applying the service charge provided in s.

23  215.20, contributions received under this subsection are not

24  income of a revenue nature.

25         Section 2.  This act shall take effect July 1, 2007.

30  The committee substitute clarifies that the funds raised for
    the Children's Hearing Help Fund are exempt from the general
31  revenue surcharge.
