  1                      A bill to be entitled

  2         An act relating to Veterans' Day; requiring

  3         employers to give honorably discharged veterans

  4         a paid holiday on November 11 of each year;

  5         providing an effective date.

  7  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

  8  

  9         Section 1.  Any person who employs a person who was

10  honorably discharged from any branch of the United States

11  military must allow such veteran to observe November 11 each

12  year as a paid holiday. If November 11 occurs on a Saturday or

13  Sunday, the date of the legally observed holiday shall be the

14  paid holiday.

15         Section 2.  This act shall take effect July 1, 2007.
