15 On page 7, line 8,

17 insert:
18 Section 2. A covered public official serving in office
19 on the effective date of this act shall not be subject to the
20 provisions of this act for the remainder of his or her current
21 term of office, unless the covered public official files an
22 irrevocable statement with the commission expressing his or
23 her intent to be subject to the provisions of this act.
