11 The Committee on Banking and Insurance (Lawson) recommended
12 the following amendment:

15 On page 5, line 14 through 25, delete those lines
16
17 and insert:
18 (b) "Primary title services" means conducting or
19 obtaining a title search or a search of the records of a
20 Uniform Commercial Code filing office and obtaining such other
21 information as may be necessary to determine insurability,
22 determining insurability in accordance with sound underwriting
23 practices based upon evaluation of a reasonable title search
24 and examination of the title or a search of the records of a
25 Uniform Commercial Code filing office and such other
26 information as may be necessary, determination and clearance
27 of underwriting objections and requirements to eliminate risk,
28 preparation and issuance of a title insurance commitment
29 setting forth the requirements to insure, and preparation and
30 issuance of the policy. Such services do not include closing
31 services for which a separate charge or charges may be made.
