| 8 | Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida: |
| 9 |

| 10 | Section 1. Subsection (5) of section 445.007, Florida |
| 11 | Statutes, is amended to read: |
| 12 | 445.007 Regional workforce boards.-- |
| 13 | (5) Workforce Florida, Inc., shall implement a training |
| 14 | program for the regional workforce boards to familiarize board |
| 15 | members with the state's workforce development goals and |
| 16 | strategies. The regional workforce board shall designate all |
| 17 | local service providers and may shall not transfer this |
| 18 | authority to a third party. In order to exercise independent |
| 19 | oversight, The regional workforce board may shall not be a |
| 20 | direct provider of intake, assessment, eligibility |
| 21 | determinations, or other direct provider services, subject to |
| 22 | the approval of the local board of county commissioners. |
| 23 | Section 2. This act shall take effect upon becoming a law. |
