  1                      A bill to be entitled

  2         An act relating to law enforcement salary

  3         incentives; amending s. 943.22, F.S.;

  4         increasing the amounts of specified salary

  5         incentives for full-time law enforcement

  6         officers; providing an effective date.

  8  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

  9  

10         Section 1.  Paragraphs (b), (c), and (e) of subsection

11  (2) of section 943.22, Florida Statutes, are amended to read:

12         943.22  Salary incentive program for full-time

13  officers.--

14         (2)

15         (b)  Any full-time officer who has a community college

16  degree or equivalent shall receive the sum of $75 $30 per

17  month in the manner provided for in paragraph (h).

18         (c)  Any full-time officer who receives a bachelor's

19  degree shall receive an additional sum of $95 $50 per month in

20  the manner provided for in paragraph (h).

21         (e)  The maximum aggregate amount which any full-time

22  officer may receive under this section is $175 $130 per month.

23  No education incentive payments shall be made for any state

24  law enforcement or correctional position for which the class

25  specification requires the minimum of a 4-year degree, or

26  higher.

27         Section 2.  This act shall take effect July 1, 2007.
