| 4 | s. 383.51, F.S., which provides that the identity of a |

| 7 | confidential and exempt from public records requirements; |
| 8 | making editorial changes; removing the scheduled repeal of |
| 9 | the exemption under the Open Government Sunset Review Act; |
| 10 | providing an effective date. |

| 12 | Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida: |
| 13 |

| 14 | Section 1. Section 383.51, Florida Statutes, is amended to |
| 15 | read: |
| 16 | 383.51 Confidentiality; identification of parent leaving |
| 17 | newborn infant at hospital, emergency medical services station, |
| 18 | or fire station.--The identity of a parent who leaves a newborn |
| 19 | infant at a hospital, emergency medical services station, or |
| 20 | fire station in accordance with s. 383.50 is confidential and |
| 21 | exempt from the provisions of s. 119.07(1) and s. 24(a), Art. I |
| 22 | of the State Constitution. The identity of a parent leaving a |
| 23 | child shall be disclosed to a person claiming to be a parent of |
| 24 | the newborn infant. This section is subject to the Open |
| 25 | Government Sunset Review Act of 1995 in accordance with s. |
| 26 | 119.15, and shall stand repealed on October 2, 2007, unless |
| 27 | reviewed and saved from repeal through reenactment by the |
| 28 | Legislature. |
| 29 | Section 2. This act shall take effect October 1, 2007. |
