  1                      A bill to be entitled

  2         An act relating to building code administrators

  3         and inspectors; creating s. 468.6215, F.S.;

  4         requiring certain disciplinary records and

  5         proceedings held by the Department of Business

  6         and Professional Regulation to be open to the

  7         public within a specified time period after

  8         legal sufficiency is determined; providing an

  9         effective date.

11  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

12  

13         Section 1.  Section 468.6215, Florida Statutes, is

14  created to read:

15         468.6215  Availability of disciplinary records and

16  proceedings.--Notwithstanding s. 455.225(10), any complaint or

17  record maintained by the Department of Business and

18  Professional Regulation relating to the discipline of a

19  building code administrator, plans examiner, or building

20  inspector licensed under this part and any proceeding held by

21  the department to discipline a licensed building code

22  administrator, plans examiner, or building inspector shall be

23  open and available to the public beginning 30 days after the

24  date that legal sufficiency is determined.

25         Section 2.  This act shall take effect July 1, 2007.
