14         Senate Amendment (with title amendment) 
15         On page 1, line 9,

17  insert:  
18         Section 1.  Each school district must observe November
19  11 of each year as the Veterans' Day holiday. Classes may not
20  be held on such holiday for any reason except for a declared
21  state emergency. If November 11 falls on a Saturday or Sunday,
22  a school holiday shall be observed on a weekday immediately
23  following or preceding that weekend so as to correspond with
24  the date that Veterans' Day is observed as a federal holiday.
