  1                      A bill to be entitled

  2         An act relating to the excise tax on documents;

  3         amending s. 201.02, F.S.; providing for

  4         nonapplication of tax to the addition or

  5         removal of names of family members to certain

  6         documents; providing an effective date.

  8  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

  9  

10         Section 1.  Subsection (11) is added to section 201.02,

11  Florida Statutes, to read:

12         201.02  Tax on deeds and other instruments relating to

13  real property or interests in real property.--

14         (11)  Taxes imposed by this section do not apply to the

15  addition or removal of the name of any family member as a

16  joint tenant with right of survivorship or holder of a life

17  estate or remainder interest in property to or from any deed

18  or other instrument relating to real property or an interest

19  in real property in the absence of any consideration paid or

20  given and upon which deed or other instrument the taxes

21  imposed by this section have previously been paid.

22         Section 2.  This act shall take effect upon becoming a

23  law.
