11  Senator Atwater moved the following amendment to House
12  amendment (904139):

14         Senate Amendment (with title amendment) 
15         Lines 191-209, delete those lines
16  
17  and insert:  
18         (4)  The Department of Health shall adopt rules
19  pursuant to ss. 120.536(1) and 120.54, Florida Statutes,
20  necessary to implement this section.
21         Section 3.  (1)  Each year, the Department of Health
22  shall analyze the results of the physician survey required by
23  section 2 of this act and determine by geographic area and
24  specialty the number of physicians who:
25         (a)  Perform deliveries of children in Florida.
26         (b)  Read mammograms and perform breast-imaging-guided
27  procedures in Florida.
28         (c)  Perform emergency care on a on-call basis for a
29  hospital emergency department.
30         (d)  Plan to reduce or increase emergency on-call hours
31  in a hospital emergency department.

Barcode 730534 1 (e) Plan to relocate their allopathic or osteopathic 2 practice outside the state. 3 (2) The Department of Health must report its findings 4 to the Governor, the President of Senate, and the Speaker of 5 the House of Representatives by November 1 each year. 6 Section 4. It is the intent of the Legislature that 7 the Department of Health implement the provisions of this act 8 within existing resources. 9 10 11 ================ T I T L E A M E N D M E N T =============== 12 And the title is amended as follows: 13 Lines 218-229, delete those lines 14 15 and insert: 16 Department of Health serve as a coordinating 17 and planning body to assess the state's future 18 workforce needs for physicians; requiring the 19 department to develop strategies for addressing 20 the current and projected workforce needs; 21 specifying additional functions of the 22 department; requiring each allopathic and 23 osteopathic physician in the state to complete 24 a survey concerning the physician's practice as 25 a condition of license renewal; specifying the 26 information to be furnished to the department 27 in the physician survey; providing for a 28 nondisciplinary citation to be issued to a 29 physician or osteopathic physician who fails to 30 complete the required survey; requiring the 31 department to provide notice of the applicable 2 8:03 PM 05/02/07 s0770e2c-25-j01
