1 A bill to be entitled
2 An act relating to the human papillomavirus;
3 requiring the Board of Medicine and the Board
4 of Osteopathic Medicine to adopt rules
5 establishing practice guidelines for physicians
6 to provide certain information concerning the
7 human papillomavirus to the parents of girls;
8 requiring that health insurance policies and
9 health maintenance contracts provide coverage
10 for vaccinations for the human papillomavirus;
11 providing an effective date.

13 Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

15 Section 1. The Board of Medicine shall adopt rules to
16 establish practice guidelines for physicians to provide
17 information to parents or guardians of a female child under
18 the age of 18 regarding vaccination against the human
19 papillomavirus in accordance with guidelines established by
20 the United States Food and Drug Administration.
21 Section 2. The Board of Osteopathic Medicine shall
22 adopt rules to establish practice guidelines for osteopathic
23 physicians to provide information to parents or guardians of a
24 female child under the age of 18 regarding vaccination against
25 the human papillomavirus in accordance with guidelines
26 established by the United States Food and Drug Administration.
27 Section 3. Required coverage for vaccination for the
28 human papillomavirus.--A health insurance policy that covers a
29 female child under the age of 18 must provide coverage for the
30 vaccination for human papillomavirus. The coverage required by

1 this section is subject to the terms and conditions applicable
2 to other benefits.
3 Section 4. Required coverage for vaccination for the
4 human papillomavirus.--A health maintenance contract that
5 covers a female child under the age of 18 must provide
6 coverage for the vaccination for human papillomavirus. The
7 coverage required by this section is subject to the terms and
8 conditions applicable to other benefits.
9 Section 5. This act shall take effect July 1, 2007.
