  1                      A bill to be entitled

  2         An act relating to trucks; creating s. 316.612,

  3         F.S.; prohibiting the use of recapped or

  4         retreaded tires on truck tractors, pole

  5         trailers, or semitrailers operated on the

  6         public roads, streets, or highways of this

  7         state; providing an effective date.

  9  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

10  

11         Section 1.  Section 316.612, Florida Statutes, is

12  created to read:

13         316.612  Recapped tires prohibited on truck tractors,

14  pole trailers, or semitrailers.--

15         (1)  A truck tractor, pole trailer, or semitrailer upon

16  which recapped or retreaded tires are mounted may not be

17  operated upon the public roads, streets, or highways of this

18  state.

19         (2)  This prohibition does not apply to such tractors

20  or trailers when they are operated only in truckyards or other

21  off-road applications.

22         Section 2.  This act shall take effect July 1, 2007.

26    Prohibits the use of recapped or retreaded tires on truck
      tractors, pole trailers, or semitrailers that are
27    operated on the public roads, streets, or highways in
      this state.
