13         Senate Amendment (with title amendment) 
14         Delete everything after the enacting clause
15  
16  and insert:  
17         Section 1.  (1)  Effective June 1, 2007, through June
18  12, 2007, the tax levied under chapter 212, Florida Statutes,
19  may not be collected on the sale of:
20         (a)  Any portable self-powered light source selling for
21  $20 or less;
22         (b)  Any portable self-powered radio, two-way radio, or
23  weatherband radio selling for $75 or less;
24         (c)  Any tarpaulin or other flexible waterproof
25  sheeting selling for $50 or less;
26         (d)  Any item normally sold as, or generally advertised
27  as, a ground anchor system or tie-down kit selling for $50 or
28  less;
29         (e)  Any gas or diesel fuel tank selling for $25 or
30  less;
31         (f)  Any package of AAA-cell, AA-cell, C-cell, D-cell,

Florida Senate - 2007 SENATOR AMENDMENT Bill No. CS for CS for SB 92 Barcode 402714 1 6-volt, or 9-volt batteries, excluding automobile and boat 2 batteries, selling for $30 or less; 3 (g) Any cell phone battery selling for $60 or less or 4 any cell phone charger selling for $40 or less; 5 (h) Any nonelectric food storage cooler selling for 6 $30 or less; 7 (i) Any portable generator used to provide light or 8 communications or preserve food in the event of a power outage 9 selling for $1,000 or less; 10 (j) Any storm shutter device selling for $200 or less. 11 As used in this paragraph, the term "storm shutter device" 12 means materials and products manufactured, rated, and marketed 13 specifically for the purpose of preventing window damage from 14 storms; 15 (k) Any carbon monoxide detector selling for $75 or 16 less; 17 (l) Any reusable ice selling for $10 or less; or 18 (m) Any single product consisting of two or more of 19 the items listed in paragraphs (a)-(l) selling for $75 or 20 less. 21 (2) This section does not apply to sales within a 22 public lodging establishment as defined in s. 509.013(4), 23 within a theme park or entertainment complex as defined in s. 24 509.013(9), or within an airport as defined in s. 330.27. 25 (3) The Department of Revenue may adopt rules pursuant 26 to ss. 120.536(1) and 120.54, Florida Statutes, to administer 27 this section. 28 Section 2. The sum of $289,100 is appropriated from 29 the General Revenue Fund to the Department of Revenue to 30 administer the exemption provided for in section 1 during the 31 2006-2007 fiscal year. 2 11:00 AM 03/29/07 s0092c2d-20-t1a
