11  The Committee on Higher Education (King) recommended the
12  following amendment:
13  
14         Senate Amendment (with title amendment) 
15         On page 7, lines 11-19, delete those lines
16  
17  and insert:  
18         (11)  "Cosmetology intern" means a student enrolled in
19  an 1800-hour cosmetology program participating in an optional
20  work experience internship under the direct supervision of a
21  licensed cosmetologist in a licensed salon.
22         (12)  "Internship sponsor" means a licensed
23  cosmetologist registered with the board for the purpose of
24  supervising a cosmetology intern and ensuring compliance by
25  the intern with the laws and rules of this state and the
26  internship requirements established by the board and
27  administered through the school or program.
28         (12)  "Body wrapping" means a treatment program that
29  uses herbal wraps for the purposes of cleansing and
30  beautifying the skin of the body, but does not include:
31         (a)  The application of oils, lotions, or other fluids

 1  to the body, except fluids contained in presoaked materials
 2  used in the wraps; or
 3         (b)  Manipulation of the body's superficial tissue,
 4  other than that arising from compression emanating from the
 5  wrap materials.
