A bill to be entitled
2An act relating to the City of Lauderhill, Broward County;
3adjusting the corporate limits of the City of Lauderhill
4to include within, or exclude from, said corporate limits
5a specified parcel and specified portions of rights-of-way
6and to remedy the creation of an enclave; providing for
7transfer of public roads and rights-of-way; providing for
8certain powers over the annexed area; providing for
9continuation of contracts in effect prior to annexation;
10providing an effective date.

12Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:
13
14     Section 1.  The present corporate limits of the City of
15Lauderhill, Broward County, are hereby contracted so as to
16voluntarily deannex and exclude from the territory presently
17within its corporate limits the area consisting of a commercial
18parcel more commonly known as the Renaissance Evangelical
19Baptist Tabernacle parking lot (Folio #504206010010), 3741 West
20Broward Boulevard, together with a portion of the abutting
21right-of-way on Broward Boulevard to be annexed into the City of
22Plantation, particularly described as follows:

24A portion of Broward Boulevard, lying in Section 6,
25Township 50 South, Range 42 East, together with Lot
26'G', Lot 10 and the West 90 feet of Lot 11 in Block 2
27of BROWARD ESTATES, SECTION ONE, according to the Plat
28thereof, recorded in Plat Book 33, Page 3, of the
29Public Records of Broward County, Florida, being more
30particularly described as follows:

32BEGINNING at the intersection of the South line of
33said Section 6 with the Southerly prolongation of the
34centerline of N.W. 38th Way as shown on the plat of
35BROWARD ESTATES Section 2, as recorded in Plat Book
3634, Page 19, Public Records of Broward County,
37Florida, said point being on the municipal boundary of
38the City of Plantation, established by Chapter 68-101,
39Laws of Florida and the Municipal Boundary, City of
40Lauderhill as established by Ordinance No. 050-11-209
41of the City of Lauderhill.

53of Broward Boulevard to the Southeast corner of Tract
54"E", as shown by BROWARD ESTATES Section 2;

67being on the municipal boundary of the City of Fort

78     Section 2.  The present corporate limits of the City of
79Lauderhill, Broward County, are hereby extended and enlarged so
80as to voluntarily annex and include, in addition to the
81territory presently within its corporate limits, the area
82consisting of a portion of the right-of-way on N.W. 31st Avenue
83from the City of Fort Lauderdale, particularly described as
84follows:

87East being more particularly described as follows:

89BEGINNING at the intersection of the South right-of-
90way line of NW 19 Street and the West right-of-way
91line of NW 31 Avenue, said point being on the
92municipal boundary of the City of Fort Lauderdale, as
93established by Chapter 69-1057, Laws of Florida and on
94the municipal boundary of the City of Lauderhill as
95established by Ordinance 040-10-220 of the City of
96Lauderhill;

119     Section 3.  In order to remedy the creation of an enclave,
120the present corporate limits of the City of Lauderhill, Broward
121County, are hereby contracted so as to deannex and exclude from
122the territory presently within its corporate limits a small
123portion of the right-of-way on Sunrise Boulevard that was
124erroneously annexed into the City of Lauderhill, particularly
125described as follows:

127A portion of the North 1/2 of Government Lot 1,
128Section 6 of Township 50 South, Range 42 East being
129more particularly described as follows:

131BEGINNING at the Northeast corner of the Northeast
132One-Quarter (NE 1/4) of said Section 6, Township 50
133South, Range 42 East, said point being on the
134corporate city limits of the City of Lauderhill as
135established by Ordinance No. 040-10-219 of the City of
136Lauderhill;

138Thence Southerly on said municipal boundary and on the
139East line of said Section 6 to a point on the
140municipal boundary of the City of Lauderhill as
141established by Ordinance No. 04-10-217 of the City of

174     Section 4.  All public roads and the public rights-of-way
175associated therewith, on the Broward County road system, lying
176within the limits of the lands subject to annexation herein, are
177transferred from Broward County jurisdiction to the jurisdiction
178of the annexing municipality upon the effective date of the
179annexation.
180     Section 5.  On the effective date of this act, the annexing
181municipality shall be responsible for and embodied with all
182municipal powers granted in chapter 166, Florida Statutes,
183including, but not limited to, police powers, over the territory
184hereby annexed.
185     Section 6.  Nothing in this act shall be construed to
186affect or abrogate the rights of parties to any contracts,
187including contracts between nongovernmental entities, which
188contracts are in effect prior to the effective date of the
189annexation.
190     Section 7.  This act shall take effect upon becoming a law.
