  1                      A bill to be entitled

  2         An act relating to truck tractor drivers;

  3         requiring such drivers to complete a 6-year

  4         training course, including 2 years of driving

  5         experience; providing an effective date.

  7  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

  8  

  9         Section 1.  In order to operate a truck tractor, as

10  defined in s. 316.003, Florida Statutes, on the roads,

11  streets, or highways of this state, a person must have

12  completed a 6-year training course that includes 4 years of

13  training before being allowed to drive on public roadways,

14  followed by 2 years of driving experience on such roadways

15  while accompanied by a person in the truck tractor who is

16  licensed to operate the vehicle.

17         Section 2.  This act shall take effect July 1, 2007.
