11  The Committee on Environmental Preservation and Conservation
12  (Jones) recommended the following amendment to amendment
13  (150638):

15         Senate Amendment (with title amendment) 
16         On page 74, between lines 24 & 25,
17  
18  insert:  
19         Section 27.  The Department of Community Affairs shall,
20  on or before September 1, 2007, review and if warranted under
21  Part VI of chapter 533, F.S., establish, by rule, new or
22  updated energy conservation standards to improve the energy
23  efficiency of the following products: residential pool pumps,
24  pool heaters and spas, commercial and residential appliances,
25  and electronic equipment. If the department determines that
26  new or updated standards are not so warranted, it shall, on or
27  before September 1, 2007, provide a written report to the
28  Governor and Legislature describing in detail the reason for
29  its determination and, separately for each product, the
30  efficiency improvements considered for the product, the
31  expected life of the product and each improvement considered,

 1  how much less electricity would be used in this state if the
 2  improvement were established as an energy conservation
 3  standard, the cost-effectiveness of each improvement
