14         Senate Amendment 
15         On page 11, between lines 14 and 15,
16  
17  insert:  
18         (g)  Real property owned and used as a homestead by a
19  person who has attained age sixty-five and whose household
20  income, as defined by general law, does not exceed $23,604 is
21  exempt from ad valorem taxation on the first $100,000 of
22  assessed value. The legislature shall provide for an annual
23  adjustment of the income limitation prescribed in this
24  subsection for changes in the cost of living and may provide
25  additional financial eligibility requirements or other
26  eligibility requirements.
