3     Amendment (with title amendment)
4     Remove lines 22-33, and insert:
5     Section 1.  Subsection (1) of section 103.101, Florida
6Statutes, is amended to read:
7     103.101  Presidential preference primary.--
8     (1)  Each political party other than a minor political
9party shall, on the first last Tuesday in February January in
10each year the number of which is a multiple of 4, elect one
11person to be the candidate for nomination of such party for
12President of the United States or select delegates to the
13national nominating convention, as provided by party rule.
14     Section 2.  Pursuant to Section 5 of Article XI of the
15State Constitution, there shall be a special election on
16February 5, 2008, to be held concurrently with other statewide
17elections held on that date, if any, at which there shall be
18submitted to the electors of this state for approval or
19rejection the amendments to the State Constitution proposed in
20Senate Joint Resolution 2-D or House Joint Resolution 7001D,
212007D Special Session.
22     Section 3.  Publication of notice shall be in accordance
23with Section 5 of Article XI of the State Constitution. The
24special election shall be held as other special elections are
25held.
26     Section 4.  Notwithstanding any other provision of law, any
27requirements or prerequisites imposed upon any state, county,
28municipal, or other governmental entity or political party
29relating to the January 29, 2008, presidential preference
30primary shall be deemed met and satisfied for purposes of the
31presidential preferential primary held on February 5, 2008,
32pursuant to this act.
