A bill to be entitled
2An act relating to the West Villages Improvement District,
3Sarasota County; amending chapter 2004-456, Laws of
4Florida, as amended; expanding the territorial boundaries
5of the district; providing for a referendum; providing an
6effective date.

8Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

10     Section 1.  Subsections (3) and (4) are added to section 17
11of chapter 2004-456, Laws of Florida, as amended by chapter
122006-355, Laws of Florida, to read:
13     Section 17.  Territorial boundaries.--
14     (3)  The territorial limits of the West Villages
15Improvement District shall also embrace and include those

930the West Villages Improvement District shall be effective until

935current district boundaries and the expanded district boundaries
936proposed by this act are entitled to vote in the referendum held

938acre, one-vote basis at the expense of the district. If the
939landowners approve the referendum described in this section by a
940majority vote of the acreage cast, then section 1 of this act
941shall take effect immediately.
942     Section 3.  This act shall take effect only upon its
943approval by a majority vote of those qualified landowners of the
944area described in section 17 of chapter 2004-456, Laws of
945Florida, as amended by chapter 2006-355, Laws of Florida, and
946this act, voting in a referendum to be held by the Board of
947Supervisors of the West Villages Improvement District voting in
948a special election, except that this section and section 2 of
949this act shall take effect upon becoming a law.
