7 | Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida: |

9 | Section 1. Section 683.34, Florida Statutes, is created to |
10 | read: |
11 | 683.34 Child Welfare Professionals Recognition Day.--The |
12 | second Monday in May of each year is designated as "Child |
13 | Welfare Professionals Recognition Day" to recognize the efforts |
14 | of all professionals who work with children and families who |
15 | have been, or are at risk of being, affected by abuse, |
16 | abandonment, or neglect. The Department of Children and Family |
17 | Services, local governments, and other agencies are encouraged |
18 | to sponsor events to promote awareness of the child welfare |
19 | system and recognize the professionals who work in the system. |
20 | Section 2. This act shall take effect July 1, 2008. |
