11 | Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida: |

13 | Section 1. Section 285.21, Florida Statutes, is created to |
14 | read: |
15 | 285.21 Mutual aid plans, arrangements, and agreements.-- |
16 | (1) The Seminole Tribe may become a party to any existing |
17 | mutual aid plan, arrangement, or agreement, as established |
18 | pursuant to s. 23.1225 or s. 252.40, by executing a copy of such |
19 | plan, arrangement, or agreement with the appropriate law |
20 | enforcement agencies or political subdivisions and providing a |
21 | copy with original signatures and authorizing resolutions to the |
22 | Division of Emergency Management of the Department of Community |
23 | Affairs and the Department of Law Enforcement. |
24 | (2) When the Seminole Tribe becomes a party to any |
25 | existing mutual aid plan, arrangement, or agreement pursuant to |
26 | subsection (1), the Division of Emergency Management of the |
27 | Department of Community Affairs and the Department of Law |
28 | Enforcement shall abide by the terms of the agreement and shall |
29 | assist the Seminole Tribe in the same manner as required to |
30 | assist political subdivisions as provided in s. 252.35 and local |
31 | law enforcement agencies as provided in part I of chapter 23, |
32 | the Florida Mutual Aid Act. |
33 | (3) A mutual aid plan, arrangement, or agreement entered |
34 | into pursuant to this section may be amended to comply with the |
35 | provisions of this chapter. |
36 | Section 2. This act shall take effect July 1, 2008. |
