     (2) CERTIFICATION OF TOWER CRANES.--A tower crane may be

9

operated in this state only if it meets the American Society of

10

Mechanical Engineers standards for construction tower cranes,

11

ASME B30.3-2004. This subsection applies to tower cranes

12

installed or erected on or after July 1, 2009.

13

     (3) CERTIFICATION OF TOWER CRANE OPERATORS.--Effective

14

July 1, 2009, a person may operate a tower crane on a

15

construction project only if he or she is certified as a crane

16

operator by the National Commission for the Certification of

17

Crane Operators.
