| 4 | prosecution of certain sexual battery offenses involving |
| 5 | minor victims; requiring corroborating evidence in certain |
| 6 | circumstances; providing an effective date. |

| 8 | Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida: |
| 9 |

| 10 | Section 1. Paragraph (c) is added to subsection (13) of |
| 11 | section 775.15, Florida Statutes, to read: |
| 12 | 775.15 Time limitations; general time limitations; |
| 13 | exceptions.-- |
| 14 | (13) |
| 15 | (c) If the offense is a second degree felony violation of |
| 16 | s. 794.011, the offender committed the offense on two or more |
| 17 | diverse occasions, and the victim was under 18 years of age at |
| 18 | the time the offense was committed, a prosecution of the offense |
| 19 | may be commenced at any time. However, if the alleged offense |
| 20 | occurred more than 3 years prior to the date that such offense |
| 21 | is to be charged, then the offense shall require proof beyond |
| 22 | the testimony of a single victim through other corroborating |
| 23 | evidence. This paragraph applies to any such offense except an |
| 24 | offense the prosecution of which would have been barred by |
| 25 | subsection (2) on or before October 1, 2008. |
| 26 | Section 2. This act shall take effect October 1, 2008. |
