An act relating to public safety; providing for an annual

salary increase for certified law enforcement officers

which shall be paid in accordance with the officer's

5

collective bargaining agreement; providing an effective

6

date.

Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

     Section 1. Each certified law enforcement officer who has a

11

performance rating of satisfactory or better, or the equivalent,

12

and who is represented by a collective bargaining unit shall

13

receive an annual salary increase that is equal to the greater of

14

one step, on the basis of the 1996 step pay plan, or 2.1 percent,

15

paid in accordance with the officer's collective bargaining

16

agreement.

     Section 2.  This act shall take effect July 1, 2008.
