| 5 | Remove everything after the enacting clause and insert: |
| 6 | Section 1. Subsection (1) of section 255.043, Florida |
| 7 | Statutes, is amended to read: |
| 8 | 255.043 Art in state buildings.-- |
| 9 | (1) Each appropriation for the original construction of a |
| 10 | state building which provides public access shall include an |
| 11 | amount of up to 0.5 percent of the total appropriation for the |
| 12 | construction of the building, not to exceed $100,000, to be used |
| 13 | for the acquisition of works of art produced by, but not limited |
| 14 | to, Florida artists or craftspersons. Those works of art |
| 15 | acquired shall be displayed for viewing in public areas in the |
| 16 | interior or on the grounds or the exterior of the building and |
| 17 | not in private offices or areas with limited public access. |
| 18 | Section 2. This act shall take effect July 1, 2008. |
