Senator Aronberg moved the following amendment:

Delete lines 87-92

and insert:

provisions of ss. 794.065, 947.1405, and 948.30 establishing such
8
residency limitations supersede the distance limitations included
9
in any such municipal or county ordinances. Any such residency
10
distance limitations adopted by a county or municipality prior to
11
October 1, 2008, are repealed and abolished as of October 1,
12
2008. However, the governing body of a county operating under a
13
home rule charter adopted pursuant to s. 11, Art. VIII of the
14
Constitution of 1885, as preserved by s. 6(e), Art. VIII of the
15
Constitution of 1968, may, upon the recommendation of the chief
16
law enforcement officer of the county and a finding of public
17
necessity, adopt an ordinance after October 1, 2008, which
18
increases the distance limitations contained in s. 794.065 up to
19
a maximum distance of 1,750 feet.
