     (2)  DEFINITIONS.--As used in this section, the term:

7

     (b)  "Eligible contribution" means a monetary contribution

8

from a taxpayer, subject to the restrictions provided in this

9

section, to an eligible nonprofit scholarship-funding

10

organization or to a public school, earmarked to provide special

11

assistance, tutoring, mentoring, and remediation services to

12

eligible students meeting the criteria in subsection (3) until

13

such students achieve grade-level performance at the public

14

school at which they are enrolled. The taxpayer making the

15

contribution may not designate a specific child as the

16

beneficiary of the contribution.
