A resolution recognizing the Naples High School Golden

Eagles Football Team, winners of the 2007 Florida High

School Athletic Association Class 3A State Championship in

Football.

     WHEREAS, the Naples High School Golden Eagles Football Team

8

is the first team in Southwest Florida to have an undefeated

9

season and win a State Championship, and

10

     WHEREAS, the Naples High School Golden Eagles Football Team

11

achieved a perfect record (15-0) for the 2007 season, and

12

     WHEREAS, outstanding skill, sportsmanship, and

13

competitiveness have been characteristics consistently

14

demonstrated by Eagle teammates Nick Alajajian, Matt Allen, Jesse

15

Allums, Eric Arce, Benji Attilus, Mitch Audit, Jason Avola,

16

Marshall Baker, Carlos Barreno, Jordan Bates, Sherdens Belizaire,

WHEREAS, Antwain Harvey, Freddy Moran, and Jack Swanson have

brought further adulation to the Golden Eagles Team through their

43

selection to the First Team of the Florida Writers Association

44

Class A All-State Squad, and

     WHEREAS, the Naples High School Golden Eagles Football Team

46

has demonstrated a spirit of dedication, commitment, and good

47

sportsmanship that stands as an inspiration for all children in

48

the State of Florida who aspire to succeed in academia and in

49

life, NOW, THEREFORE,

Be It Resolved by the Senate of the State of Florida:

     That the Florida Senate commends the Naples High School

54

Golden Eagles Football Team, their coaches, and their parents for

55

the honor and pride they have brought to this state by their

56

outstanding dedication and performance as athletes.

     BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution, with

58

the Seal of the Senate affixed, be presented to the Naples High

59

School Golden Eagles Football Team as a tangible token of the

60

sentiments of the Florida Senate.
