Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

     Section 1.  Section 15.0386, Florida Statutes, is created to

9

read:

     15.0386 Official state tortoise.--The Gopher Tortoise

11

(Gopherus polyphemus) is designated the official state tortoise.

12

     Section 2.  This act shall take effect July 1, 2008.
