An act relating to community redevelopment agencies;

amending s. 163.356, F.S.; providing for the dissolution

4

of community redevelopment agencies within 15 years after

5

creation; specifying a date of dissolution for agencies

6

that have been in existence for a longer period; providing

7

an effective date.

Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

     Section 1.  Subsection (5) is added to section 163.356,

12

Florida Statutes, to read:

     163.356  Creation of community redevelopment agency.--

14

     (5) A community redevelopment agency created pursuant to

15

this part must be dissolved within 15 years after its creation,

16

except that community redevelopment agencies that were created

17

before July 1, 2008, and that have been in existence longer than

18

15 years must be dissolved by July 1, 2009.

     Section 2.  This act shall take effect July 1, 2008.
