Section 30. Section 1013.375, Florida Statutes, is created

to read:

1013.375 New or renovated educational facilities;
11
standards for energy efficiency and sustainability.--Each new
12
educational facility and each renovation of an educational
13
facility which costs more than $100,000 must achieve, at
14
minimum, a silver-level certification in the rating system used
15
by the United States Green Building Council's Leadership in
16
Energy and Environmental Design or a two-globe rating in the
17
Green Globe rating system used by the Green Building Initiative.
18
This section does not apply to a facility if the board approves
19
the design for the construction or renovation before July 1,
20
2009.
