Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

Section 1. Major Claude A. Gnann Memorial Highway
28
designated; Department of Transportation to erect suitable
29
markers.--
30
(1) The portion of State Road 44 in Lake County from County
31
Road 46A east to the county line is designated as the "Major
32
Claude A. Gnann Memorial Highway."
33
(2) The Department of Transportation is directed to erect
34
suitable markers designating the Major Claude A. Gnann Memorial
35
Highway as described in subsection (1).

Section 2. Deputy Wayne Koester Memorial Highway
37
designated; Department of Transportation to erect suitable
38
markers.--

(1) The portion of State Road 44 in Lake County from County
40
Road 439 east to County Road 46A is designated as the "Deputy
41
Wayne Koester Memorial Highway."

(2) The Department of Transportation is directed to erect
43
suitable markers designating the Deputy Wayne Koester Memorial
44
Highway as described in subsection (1).

Section 3. Lt. Colonel Robert T. Heagy, Jr., Memorial

Highway designated; Department of Transportation to erect

suitable markers.--

(1) The portion of U.S. Highway 441 between County Road 318

and NW 193rd Street in Marion County is designated as the "Lt.
50
Colonel Robert T. Heagy, Jr., Memorial Highway."

(2) The Department of Transportation is directed to erect

suitable markers designating the Lt. Colonel Robert T. Heagy,
53
Jr., Memorial Highway, as described in subsection (1).

Section 4. Cutler Bay Boulevard designated; Department of

Transportation to erect suitable markers.--

(1) The portion of U.S. 1 in Miami-Dade County from S.W.

184th Street to S.W. 112th Avenue, inclusive, is designated as

"Cutler Bay Boulevard."

(2) The Department of Transportation is directed to erect

suitable markers designating Cutler Bay Boulevard as described in

subsection (1).

Section 5. Palmetto Bay Boulevard designated; Department of

Transportation to erect suitable markers.--

(1) The portion of U.S. 1 in Miami-Dade County from S.W.

136th Street to S.W. 184th Street, inclusive, is designated as

"Palmetto Bay Boulevard."

(2) The Department of Transportation is directed to erect

suitable markers designating Palmetto Bay Boulevard as described
69
in subsection (1).

Section 6. American Legion Way designated; Department of

Transportation to erect suitable markers.--

(1) The portion of S.W. 59th Avenue in Miami-Dade County

from S.W. 80th Street to S.W. 72nd Street is designated as

"American Legion Way."

(2) The Department of Transportation is directed to erect

suitable markers designating American Legion Way as described in

subsection (1).

Section 7. Honorable Robert B. Ingram, Ph.D., Boulevard

designated; Department of Transportation to erect suitable

(1) The portion of Opa-Locka Boulevard/N.W. 135th Street in

Miami-Dade County between N.W. 7th Avenue and N.W. 47th Avenue is

designated as "Honorable Robert B. Ingram, Ph.D., Boulevard."

(2) The Department of Transportation is directed to erect

suitable markers designating Honorable Robert B. Ingram, Ph.D.,

Boulevard as described in subsection (1).

Section 8. Father Emilio Vallina Avenue designated;

(1) The portion of West Flagler Street in Miami-Dade County

Chiefland High School is designated as "United States Army

Specialist Brandon Tyler Thorsen Memorial Highway."

Section 16. Veteran's Memorial Parkway designated;

Department of Transportation to erect suitable markers.--

(1) The portion of State Road 72 in Sarasota County from a

point immediately east of I-75 to the entrance of the National
158
Veterans Cemetery in Sarasota is designated as "Veteran's
159
Memorial Parkway."

(2) The Department of Transportation is directed to erect

suitable markers designating Veteran's Memorial Parkway as
162
described in subsection (1).

Section 17. Gil Waters Bridge designated; Department of
164
Transportation to erect suitable markers.--

(1) The portion of SR 789/GulfStream Avenue in Sarasota
166
between Sunset Drive and Bird Key Drive is designated as "Gil
167
Waters Bridge."

(2) The Department of Transportation is directed to erect
169
suitable markers designating Gil Waters Bridge as described in
170
subsection (1).

Section 18. Joseph P. Bertrand Building designated;
172
Department of Management Services to erect suitable markers.--

(1) The Regional Transportation Management Center in Fort
174
Myers is designated the "Joseph P. Bertrand Building".
175
(2) The Department of Management Services may erect
176
suitable markers designating the "Joseph P. Bertrand Building" as
177
described in subsection (1).

Section 19. Section 589.19, Florida Statutes, is amended to
179
read:
180
589.19 Creation of certain state forests; naming of certain
181
state forests.--
182
(1) When the Board of Trustees of the Internal Improvement
183
Trust Fund, any state agency, or any agency created by state law,
184
authorized to accept reforestation lands in the name of the
185
state, approve the recommendations of the Division of Forestry in
186
reference to the acquisition of land and acquire such land, the
187
said board, state agency, or agency created by state law, may
188
formally designate and dedicate any area as a reforestation
189
project, or state forest, and where so designated and dedicated
190
such area shall be under the administration of the division which
191
shall be authorized to manage and administer said area according
192
to the purpose for which it was designated and dedicated.
193
(2) The first state forest acquired by the Board of
194
Trustees of the Internal Improvement Trust Fund in Baker County
195
is to be named the John M. Bethea State Forest. This is to honor
196
Mr. John M. Bethea who was Florida's fourth state forester and
197
whose distinguished career in state government spanned 46 years
198
and who is a native of Baker County.
199
(3) The state forest managed by the Division of Forestry in
200
Seminole County is to be named the Charles H. Bronson State
201
Forest to honor Charles H. Bronson, the tenth Commissioner of
202
Agriculture, for his distinguished contribution to this state's
203
agriculture and natural resources.

Section 20. This act shall take effect July 1, 2008.
