Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

     Section 1. Major Claude A. Gnann Memorial Highway

41

designated; Department of Transportation to erect suitable

42

markers.--

43

     (1) The portion of State Road 44 in Lake County from County

44

Road 46A east to the county line is designated as the "Major

45

Claude A. Gnann Memorial Highway."

46

     (2) The Department of Transportation is directed to erect

47

suitable markers designating the Major Claude A. Gnann Memorial

48

Highway as described in subsection (1).

     Section 2. Deputy Wayne Koester Memorial Highway

50

designated; Department of Transportation to erect suitable

51

markers.--

     (1) The portion of State Road 44 in Lake County from County

53

Road 439 east to County Road 46A is designated as the "Deputy

54

Wayne Koester Memorial Highway."

55

     (2) The Department of Transportation is directed to erect

56

suitable markers designating the Deputy Wayne Koester Memorial

57

Highway as described in subsection (1).

     Section 3. Lt. Colonel Robert T. Heagy, Jr., Memorial

Highway designated; Department of Transportation to erect

suitable markers.--

     (1) The portion of U.S. Highway 441 between County Road 318

and NW 193rd Street in Marion County is designated as the "Lt.

63

Colonel Robert T. Heagy, Jr., Memorial Highway."

     (2) The Department of Transportation is directed to erect

suitable markers designating the Lt. Colonel Robert T. Heagy,

Jr., Memorial Highway, as described in subsection (1).

     Section 4. Cutler Bay Boulevard designated; Department of

Transportation to erect suitable markers.--

     (1) The portion of U.S. 1 in Miami-Dade County from S.W.

184th Street to S.W. 112th Avenue, inclusive, is designated as

"Cutler Bay Boulevard."

     (2) The Department of Transportation is directed to erect

     (1) The portion of U.S. 1 in Miami-Dade County from S.W.

136th Street to S.W. 184th Street, inclusive, is designated as

"Palmetto Bay Boulevard."

     (2) The Department of Transportation is directed to erect

suitable markers designating Palmetto Bay Boulevard as described

in subsection (1).

     Section 6. American Legion Way designated; Department of

Transportation to erect suitable markers.--

     (1) The portion of S.W. 59th Avenue in Miami-Dade County

86

from S.W. 80th Street to S.W. 72nd Street is designated as

87

"American Legion Way."

     (2) The Department of Transportation is directed to erect

89

suitable markers designating American Legion Way as described in

90

subsection (1).

     Section 7. Honorable Robert B. Ingram, Ph.D., Boulevard

92

designated; Department of Transportation to erect suitable

93

markers.--

     (1) The portion of Opa-Locka Boulevard/N.W. 135th Street in

95

Miami-Dade County between N.W. 7th Avenue and N.W. 47th Avenue is

96

designated as "Honorable Robert B. Ingram, Ph.D., Boulevard."

     (2) The Department of Transportation is directed to erect

98

suitable markers designating Honorable Robert B. Ingram, Ph.D.,

99

Boulevard as described in subsection (1).

     Section 8. Father Emilio Vallina Avenue designated;

Department of Transportation to erect suitable markers.--

     (1) The portion of West Flagler Street in Miami-Dade County

Tyrone Curry Boulevard."

     Section 10. United States Army Specialist Brandon Tyler

Thorsen Memorial Highway designated; Department of Transportation

     (1) The portion of U.S. Highway 19/98 (State Road 55) and

U.S. Alternate 27 (State Road 500) in Levy County in front of the

121

Chiefland High School is designated as "United States Army

122

Specialist Brandon Tyler Thorsen Memorial Highway."

     (2) The Department of Transportation is directed to erect

suitable markers designating United States Army Specialist

125

Brandon Tyler Thorsen Memorial Highway as described in subsection

(1).

     Section 11. John E. Andrews Boulevard designated; Department

of Transportation to erect suitable markers.--

     (1) The portion of Edgewood Avenue in Duval County between

Beaver Street and Roosevelt Boulevard is designated as "John E.

     (2) The Department of Transportation is directed to erect

     Section 12. George Matthews Boulevard designated;

     Section 15. James H. Argrett, Sr., Avenue designated;

Department of Transportation to erect suitable markers.--

     (1) The portion of Edgewood Avenue West in Duval County

between Avenue B and Moncrief Road is designated as "James H.

Argrett, Sr., Avenue."

     (2) The Department of Transportation is directed to erect

suitable markers designating James H. Argrett, Sr., Avenue as

described in subsection (1).

     Section 16. Veteran's Memorial Parkway designated;

Department of Transportation to erect suitable markers.--

     (1) The portion of State Road 72 in Sarasota County from a

170

point immediately east of I-75 to the entrance of the National

171

Veterans Cemetery in Sarasota is designated as "Veteran's

172

Memorial Parkway."

     (2) The Department of Transportation is directed to erect

174

suitable markers designating Veteran's Memorial Parkway as

175

described in subsection (1).

     Section 17. Gil Waters Bridge designated; Department of

177

Transportation to erect suitable markers.--

     (1) The portion of SR 789/GulfStream Avenue in Sarasota

179

between Sunset Drive and Bird Key Drive is designated as "Gil

180

Waters Bridge."

     (2) The Department of Transportation is directed to erect

182

suitable markers designating Gil Waters Bridge as described in

183

subsection (1).

     Section 18. Raquel Regalado Avenue designated; Department

185

of Transportation to erect suitable markers.--

     (1) The portion of 27th Avenue in Miami-Dade County from

187

Flagler to S.W. 5th Street is designated as "Raquel Regalado

188

Avenue."

     (2) The Department of Transportation is directed to erect

190

suitable markers designating Raquel Regalado Avenue as described

191

in subsection (1).

     Section 19. Joseph P. Bertrand Building designated;

193

Department of Management Services to erect suitable markers.--

(1) The Regional Transportation Management Center in Fort

195

Myers is designated the "Joseph P. Bertrand Building."

196

     (2) The Department of Management Services may erect

197

suitable markers designating the "Joseph P. Bertrand Building" as

198

described in subsection (1).

     Section 20. Reverend Dr. C.P. Preston, Jr. Street

200

designated; Department of Transportation to erect suitable

201

markers.--

     (1) The portion of SR 934 on N.W. 79th Street between N.W.

203

7th Avenue and N.W. 37th Avenue in Miami-Dade County is

204

designated as "Reverend Dr. C.P. Preston, Jr. Street."

     (2) The Department of Transportation is directed to erect

206

suitable markers designating "Reverend Dr. C.P. Preston, Jr.

207

Street" as described in subsection (1).

     Section 21.  Section 589.19, Florida Statutes, is amended to

209

read:

210

     589.19  Creation of certain state forests; naming of certain

211

state forests.--

212

     (1)  When the Board of Trustees of the Internal Improvement

213

Trust Fund, any state agency, or any agency created by state law,

214

authorized to accept reforestation lands in the name of the

215

state, approve the recommendations of the Division of Forestry in

216

reference to the acquisition of land and acquire such land, the

217

said board, state agency, or agency created by state law, may

218

formally designate and dedicate any area as a reforestation

219

project, or state forest, and where so designated and dedicated

220

such area shall be under the administration of the division which

221

shall be authorized to manage and administer said area according

222

to the purpose for which it was designated and dedicated.

223

     (2)  The first state forest acquired by the Board of

224

Trustees of the Internal Improvement Trust Fund in Baker County

225

is to be named the John M. Bethea State Forest. This is to honor

226

Mr. John M. Bethea who was Florida's fourth state forester and

227

whose distinguished career in state government spanned 46 years

228

and who is a native of Baker County.

229

     (3) The state forest managed by the Division of Forestry in

230

Seminole County is to be named the Charles H. Bronson State

231

Forest to honor Charles H. Bronson, the tenth Commissioner of

232

Agriculture, for his distinguished contribution to this state's

233

agriculture and natural resources.

234

     Section 22. Rolando Encinosa Road designated; Department of

235

Transportation to erect suitable markers.--

236

(1) That portion of SR 972/ SW 22nd Street between SW 22nd

237

Avenue and SW 24th Avenue in Miami-Dade County is designated as

238

"Rolando Encinosa Road."

239

     (2) The Department of Transportation is directed to erect

240

suitable markers designating Rolando Encinosa Road as described

241

in subsection (1).

     Section 23. Henry Levy Boulevard designated; Department of

243

Transportation to erect suitable markers.--

244

     (1) That portion of 71st Street between Collins Avenue and

245

Bay Drive in the City of Miami Beach in Miami-Dade County is

246

designated as "Henri Levy Boulevard."

247

     (2) The Department of Transportation is directed to erect

248

suitable markers designating Henri Levy Boulevard as described in

249

subsection (1).

     Section 24. Manuel Feijoo Avenue designated; Department of

251

Transportation to erect suitable markers.--

252

     (1) That portion of S.W. 72nd Avenue between S.W. 21st

253

Street and North Waterway Drive in Miami-Dade County is

254

designated as "Manuel Feijoo Avenue."

255

     (2) The Department of Transportation is directed to erect

256

suitable markers designating Manuel Feijoo Avenue as described in

257

subsection (1).

     Section 25. All-America Parkway designated; Department of

259

Transportation to erect suitable markers.--

260

     (1) That portion of U.S. Highway 1 between S.W. 80th Street

261

and S.W. 57th Avenue in Miami-Dade County designated as "South

262

Miami All-American Parkway" by chapter 2003-298, Laws of Florida,

263

is redesignated as "All America Parkway."

264

     (2) The Department of Transportation is directed to erect

265

suitable markers redesignating the South Miami All-American

266

Parkway as All America Parkway as described in section (1).

267

     Section 26. Katherine Fernandez Rundle Avenue designated;

268

Department of Transportation to erect suitable markers.--

269

     (1) That portion of 12th Avenue between 8th Street S.W. and

270

64th Street N.W. in Miami-Dade County is designated as "Katherine

271

Fernandez Rundle Avenue."

272

     (2) The Department of Transportation is directed to erect

273

suitable markers designating Katherine Fernandez Rundle Avenue as

274

described in subsection (1).

     Section 27. Judy Drucker Boulevard designated; Department

276

of Transportation to erect suitable markers.--

277

(1) The portion of Biscayne Boulevard in Miami-Dade County

278

between N.E. 13th Street and N.E. 14th Street is designated as

279

"Judy Drucker Boulevard."

280

(2) The Department of Transportation is directed to erect

281

suitable markers designating Judy Drucker Boulevard as described

282

in subsection (1).

     Section 28. Will James Johnson Road designated; Department

284

of Transportation to erect suitable markers.--

(1) The portion of State Road 976/S.W. 40th Street in

286

Miami-Dade County from Hibiscus Street to Ohio Street is

287

designated as "Will James Johnson Road."

(2) The Department of Transportation is directed to erect

289

suitable markers designating Will James Johnson Road as described

290

in subsection (1).

     Section 29. Martha Flores Way designated; Department of

292

Transportation to erect suitable markers.--

(1) The portion of 8th Street in Miami-Dade County from SW

294

42nd Avenue to SW 47th Avenue is designated as "Martha Flores

295

Way."

(2) The Department of Transportation is directed to erect

297

suitable markers designating Martha Flores Way as described in

298

subsection (1).

     Section 30. Rabbi Barry Tabachnikoff Avenue designated;

300

Department of Transportation to erect suitable markers.--

301

(1) The portion of SW 87th Ave from SW 94th St to SW 95th

302

Street is designated as "Rabbi Barry Tabachnikoff Avenue."

303

(2) The Department of Transportation is directed to erect

304

suitable markers designating Rabbi Barry Tabachnikoff Avenue as

305

described in subsection (1).

     Section 31. Notwithstanding any provision of chapter 74-8

307

400, Laws of Florida, public funds may be used for the alteration

308

of Old Cutler Road, between Southwest 136th Street and Southwest

309

184th Street, in the Village of Palmetto Bay.

310

(1) The alteration may include the installation of

311

sidewalks, curbing, and landscaping to enhance pedestrian access

312

to the road.

313

(2) The official approval of the project by the Department

314

of State must be obtained before any alteration is started.

315

     Section 32.  This act shall take effect July 1, 2008.
