Senate Resolution

A resolution recognizing Monty Trainer for his many

3

contributions to Miami-Dade County and the State of

4

Florida.

     WHEREAS, Monty Trainer, a native of Key West and a resident

7

of Coconut Grove for approximately 40 years, has become well

8

known for his philanthropic presentations and his accomplishments

9

in shaping the image of Miami-Dade County and its culture, and

10

     WHEREAS, Mr. Trainer, a former member of the Governor's

11

Committee for Tourism and Chairman of the Greater Miami Host

12

Committee, Inc., produces and hosts the signature events that

13

promote Greater Miami and the Miami Beaches as a national and

14

international travel and tourism destination, and

15

     WHEREAS, he is currently President of the prestigious

16

Coconut Grove Arts Festival, which is recognized as a premier

17

international arts festival in the United States, and

18

     WHEREAS, Monty Trainer's passion and commitment to Miami-

19

Dade County are demonstrated in his dedicated efforts as Chairman

20

of Miami-Dade County Days in Tallahassee for the past 19 years;

21

as Vice Chairman of the New World School of the Arts; as a member

22

of the City of Miami Special Events and Marketing Committee; as

23

Chairman of the Coconut Grove Arts & Historical Society; and as

24

State Chairman of Recording for the Blind and Dyslexic, and

25

     WHEREAS, he has been honored by the Florida Association for

26

Nonprofit Organizations and the National Association of

27

Fundraising Executives for his remarkably energetic and

28

successful community leadership, NOW, THEREFORE,

29

Be It Resolved by the Senate of the State of Florida:

     That the Florida Senate recognizes the dedicated work and

33

valuable accomplishments of Monty Trainer in developing,

34

promoting, and supporting the cultural resources of Miami-Dade

35

County and the State of Florida.

36

     BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution, with

37

the Seal of the Senate affixed, be presented to Mr. Monty Trainer

38

as a tangible token of the sentiments of the Florida Senate.
