An act relating to mutual aid agreements; creating s.

285.185, F.S.; authorizing the Seminole Tribe of Florida

4

to enter into any existing mutual aid plan, arrangement,

5

or agreement; requiring the Division of Emergency

6

Management and the Department of Law Enforcement to abide

7

by the terms of such plan, arrangement, or agreement and

8

provide assistance; authorizing parties to modify the

9

provisions of such plan, arrangement, or agreement;

10

providing an effective date.

Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

     Section 1.  Section 285.185, Florida Statutes, is created to

15

read:

16

     285.185 Mutual aid plans, arrangements, and agreements.--

17

(1) The Seminole Tribe of Florida may enter into any

18

existing mutual aid plan, arrangement, or agreement as set forth

19

in ss. 23.1225 and 252.40 by executing a copy of such plan,

20

arrangement, or agreement and providing the copy and the

21

authorizing resolutions to the Division of Emergency Management

22

of the Department of Community Affairs and the Department of Law

23

Enforcement.

(2) If the Seminole Tribe of Florida enters into an

25

existing mutual aid plan, arrangement, or agreement, the division

26

and the department shall abide by the terms of such plan,

27

arrangement, or agreement and assist the Seminole Tribe of

28

Florida pursuant to s. 252.35 and the Florida Mutual Aid Act.

(3) Parties to the mutual aid plan, arrangement, or

30

agreement may modify provisions of such plan, arrangement, or

31

agreement to carry out the provisions of this chapter.

     Section 2.  This act shall take effect July 1, 2008.
