An act relating to state parks; amending s. 258.014, F.S.;

providing free admission to state parks on certain state

4

and federal holidays for qualified persons to honor those

5

serving or having served in the United States Armed

6

Forces; providing an effective date.

Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

     Section 1.  Subsection (3) is added to section 258.014,

11

Florida Statutes, to read:

     258.014  Fees for use of state parks.--

13

     (3) The Division of Recreation and Parks shall waive

14

admission fees for all active-duty military personnel, or the

15

spouse or minor child of such person, having valid identification

16

on the Memorial Day holiday and for all visitors on the Veterans

17

Day holiday in honor of those who have served in the United

18

States Armed Forces. The division is also encouraged to hold

19

special events and take other actions appropriate to show the

20

appreciation for those who have served our country in the Armed

21

Forces.

     Section 2.  This act shall take effect July 1, 2008.
