     Section 70. A person who has not attained the age of 18

9

must successfully complete a basic driver improvement course that

10

meets the requirements of s. 318.1451, Florida Statutes, and

11

which includes classroom instruction and behind-the-wheel

12

training, within 6 months before the date the person applies for

13

a regular Florida Class E driver's license. The possession of a

14

Restricted Class E driver's license does not exempt an applicant

15

from meeting this requirement; however, an applicant for a

16

Restricted Class E driver's license or Class E driver's license

17

renewal is not required to complete the course under this

18

section. A person who is at least 18 years old and has been

19

issued a Class E driver's license in another state is exempt from

20

the requirements of this section.
