An act relating to license plates; amending ss. 320.08056,

3

320.08058, F.S.; creating an I Believe license plate;

4

providing for the distribution of annual use fees received

5

from the sale of such plates; providing an effective date.

Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

8

     Section 1.  Paragraph (mmm) is added to subsection (4) of

10

section 320.08056, Florida Statutes, to read:

11

     320.08056  Specialty license plates.--

12

     (4)  The following license plate annual use fees shall be

13

collected for the appropriate specialty license plates:

14

     (mmm) I Believe license plate, $25.

15

     Section 2.  Subsection (65) is added to section 320.08058,

16

Florida Statutes, to read:

17

     320.08058  Specialty license plates.--

     (65) I BELIEVE LICENSE PLATES.--

     (a) The department shall develop an I Believe license plate

20

as provided in this section. The plate must bear the colors and

21

design approved by the department. The word "Florida" must appear

22

at the top of the plate and the words "I Believe" must appear at

23

the bottom of the plate.

     (b) The annual use fees from the plate shall be distributed

25

to Faith in Teaching, Inc., which may retain all revenue from the

26

use fees until all startup costs for developing and establishing

27

the plate have been recovered. Thereafter, Faith in Teaching,

28

Inc., shall allocate the annual use fees as follows:

29

     1. A maximum of 15 percent may be used to offset

30

administrative costs incurred by Faith in Teaching, Inc.;

31

     2. A maximum of 10 percent may be used to promote and

32

market the plate; and

33

     3. The remaining funds shall be used to fund programs,

34

activities, and projects that promote faith-based education for

35

youth in this state.

     Section 3.  This act shall take effect July 1, 2008.
