An act relating to affordable senior housing; amending s.

163.3177, F.S.; authorizing local governments to include

an affordable senior housing element in comprehensive

5

plans; specifying element requirements; providing an

6

effective date.

Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

     Section 1.  Paragraphs (k) and (l) of subsection (7) of

11

section 163.3177, Florida Statutes, are redesignated as

12

paragraphs (l) and (m), respectively, and a new paragraph (k) is

13

added to that subsection, to read:

14

     163.3177  Required and optional elements of comprehensive

15

plan; studies and surveys.--

16

     (7)  The comprehensive plan may include the following

17

additional elements, or portions or phases thereof:

18

     (k) A locally developed affordable senior housing element

19

setting out plans and programs along with supporting

20

infrastructure and public facilities.

     Section 2.  This act shall take effect July 1, 2008.
