An act relating to trust funds; re-creating the Federal

Grants Trust Fund within the Florida Parole Commission

without modification; repealing s. 947.045(3), F.S.;

5

abrogating provisions relating to the termination of the

6

trust fund, to conform; providing an effective date.

     WHEREAS, the Legislature wishes to extend the life of the

9

Federal Grants Trust Fund within the Florida Parole Commission,

10

which is otherwise scheduled to be terminated pursuant to

11

constitutional mandate, and

12

     WHEREAS, the Legislature has reviewed the trust fund before

13

its scheduled termination date and has found it continues to meet

14

an important public purpose, and

15

     WHEREAS, the Legislature has found that existing public

16

policy concerning the trust fund sets adequate parameters for its

17

use, NOW, THEREFORE,

Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

     Section 1. The Federal Grants Trust Fund within the Parole

22

Commission, FLAIR number 78-2-261, which is to be terminated

23

pursuant to Section 19(f), Article III of the State Constitution

24

on July 1, 2009, is re-created.

25

     Section 2. Subsection (3) of section 947.045, Florida

26

Statutes, is repealed.

     Section 3.  This act shall take effect July 1, 2009.
