Section 1. Paragraph (mmm) is added to subsection (4) of
9
section 320.08056, Florida Statutes, to read:
10
320.08056 Specialty license plates.--
11
(4) The following license plate annual use fees shall be
12
collected for the appropriate specialty license plates:
13
(mmm) Florida Tennis license plate, $25.
14
Section 2. Subsection (65) is added to section 320.08058,
15
Florida Statutes, to read:

320.08058 Specialty license plates.--

(65) FLORIDA TENNIS LICENSE PLATES.--
18
(a) The department shall develop a Florida Tennis license
19
plate as provided in this section. The word "Florida" must
20
appear at the top of the plate and the words "Play Tennis" must
21
appear at the bottom of the plate. The United States Tennis
22
Association Florida Section Foundation may submit a revised
23
sample plate for consideration by the department.
24
(b) The department shall distribute the annual use fees to
25
the Florida Sports Foundation, a direct-support organization of
26
the Office of Tourism, Trade, and Economic Development. The
27
license plate annual use fees shall be annually allocated as
28
follows:

1. Up to 5 percent of the proceeds from the annual use
30
fees may be used by the Florida Sports Foundation to administer
31
the license plate program.

2. The United States Tennis Association Florida Section
33
shall receive the first $60,000 in proceeds from the annual use
34
fees to reimburse it for startup costs, administrative costs,
35
and other costs it incurs in the development and approval
36
process.

3. Up to 5 percent of the proceeds from the annual use
38
fees may be used for promoting and marketing the license plates.
39
The remaining proceeds shall be available for grants by the
40
United States Tennis Association Florida Section Foundation to
41
nonprofit organizations to operate youth tennis programs and
42
adaptive tennis programs for special populations of all ages,
43
and for building, renovating, and maintaining public tennis
44
courts.
45
(c) All grant recipients shall provide to the United
46
States Tennis Association Florida Section Foundation an annual
47
program and financial report regarding the use of grant funds.
48
Such reports shall be made available to the public.
49
Section 3. This act shall take effect July 1, 2008.
