The Committee on Governmental Operations (Posey) recommended the

following amendment to amendment (147852):

     Senate Amendment (with title amendment)

     Between line(s) 89 and 90,

insert:

     (f) If a county has an independent special fire control and

9

rescue district within its boundaries, the surtax proceeds shall

10

be distributed among the county, municipalities, and independent

11

special fire control and rescue districts based on the

12

expenditure of ad valorem taxes and non-ad valorem assessments

13

for fire rescue services of each for the immediately preceding 5

14

fiscal years, as a proportion of the total of such expenditures

15

for fire rescue services within the county, all municipalities,

16

and all independent special fire control and rescue districts.

17

The requirements of subparagraphs (c)1. and 2. do not apply to

18

the interlocal agreement entered into pursuant to this

19

subsection. The county may charge an administrative fee that may

20

not exceed 2 percent for receiving revenue from the state and

21

distributing it pursuant to this subsection.
