An act relating to K-20 education performance

accountability standards; amending s. 1008.31, F.S.;

declaring the legislative intent that the K-20 education

system comply with the Individuals with Disabilities

Education Act; providing an effective date.

Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

     Section 1.  Paragraph (c) of subsection (1) of section

11

1008.31, Florida Statutes, is amended to read:

12

     1008.31  Florida's K-20 education performance accountability

13

system; legislative intent; mission, goals, and systemwide

14

measures; data quality improvements.--

     (1)  LEGISLATIVE INTENT.--It is the intent of the

16

Legislature that:

17

     (c)  The K-20 education performance accountability system

18

comply with the accountability requirements of the "No Child Left

19

Behind Act of 2001," Pub. L. No. 107-110, and the Individuals

20

with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA).

21

     Section 2.  This act shall take effect July 1, 2008.
