An act relating to community colleges; creating s.

1004.665, F.S.; authorizing a community college to change

its name to college if it meets certain requirements;

providing an effective date.

Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

     Section 1.  Section 1004.665, Florida Statutes, is created

10

to read:

     1004.665 Designation as college.--Any community college in

12

the state community college system is authorized to change its

13

name to "college" if it becomes accredited as a baccalaureate

14

degree granting college.

     Section 2.  This act shall take effect July 1, 2008.
